Dealing with death: How to help kids after the loss of a loved one

Death is a natural part of a life, and at some point as a parent, you will have to explain the passing of a loved one to your children.


I recently spoke with Amy Bell, a writer with CBC News, on how to help children understand the death of a family member or friend.


One of the questions that often comes up for my clients is how to talk to children about someone dying. The best approach is to be honest, so that children don't interpret it as their fault.
