We want to introduce parents and their families to a few new faces at Bright Star Counselling. Meet Olivia and Taylore! They are two child and family therapist interns who will be joining our team in September 2025.
A Note About Student Internships: How it Works
If you're not already aware, we have a process established for all interns at Bright Star Counselling. Students undergo competitive hiring at our clinic in order to learn and train here. Most of our selected students already have significant experience in the mental health field and are completing a pediatric counselling and treatment internship.
Students meet with their supervisors—a senior child and family therapist at the clinic—weekly, in order to review therapy and counselling plans for clients. They are closely supervised and given feedback and training while working with your child.
Bright Star Counselling is proud to be a sought-after clinical placement site in the Vancouver BC and Port Moody areas.
About Olivia
Olivia Zamprogno (she/her pronouns) is a family and child therapist intern who is currently completing her Master's of Education in School Counselling through City University Vancouver. She is also working as an elementary school teacher in the community, which complements her experience and knowledge in classroom teaching and learning support.
Olivia's counselling approach is trauma-informed with a child-centred perspective and fully grounded in relationships. Emotional connection is a vital part of her process in supporting children as they grow, learn, and express themselves. Her background in education also helps her understand how to support children both at school and at home.
About Taylore
Taylore Jones (she/her pronouns) is a family and child therapist intern at Bright Star Counselling. Currently, she is completing her Master's in School Counselling at City University Vancouver. Taylore has completed a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Sociology and a Bachelor of Education from the University of British Columbia, where she also played varsity softball.
Taylore's counselling approach is child-centred, relational, and strengths-based. Her background in education and coaching includes being an elementary school teacher in West Vancouver for the past 3 years. Taylore's time spent in the classroom has given her meaningful experience in helping students navigate anxiety, emotional regulation, peer conflict, and self-confidence.
We're so happy they're joining us at Bright Star Counselling for their internships. Welcome Olivia and Taylore!
