I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with a Master's degree in Counselling Psychology from Adler University, specializing in supporting children and adolescents through some of life's most formative and challenging moments. My work focuses on young people experiencing anxiety, behavioural challenges, trauma, and emotional difficulties, drawing on evidence-informed approaches including Adlerian, person-centered, and DBT-informed techniques.
My practice is grounded in an Adlerian, strengths-based perspective — one that is especially well-suited to the unique developmental needs of young people. I believe children and teenagers thrive when they feel encouraged, understood, and connected, and so I focus on understanding each young person within the context of their relationships, experiences, and sense of belonging. Building genuine rapport is at the heart of my work, and I take care to create a safe, welcoming space where children and teens can express themselves at their own pace, without pressure or judgment.
I recognize that young people don't always communicate their inner world through words alone — and I meet them where they are. Creativity and flexibility are central to how I work with children and adolescents, and I regularly incorporate play therapy, sandplay, and art-based activities to help young people express what words sometimes can't capture. With teens, I weave in strategies such as narrative work, mood tracking, and values exploration to help them make sense of their identity, emotions, and relationships — tools that speak to where they are developmentally and resonate with the very real pressures of adolescent life.
Because meaningful growth in young people often happens beyond the therapy room, collaboration with caregivers is essential to my approach. I work closely with parents and guardians to align on treatment goals, discuss what progress may look like, and ensure that the support young people receive extends into their everyday lives — all while maintaining each child's confidentiality and sense of trust.
I also bring deep attention to the many influences that shape a young person's inner world, including family dynamics, cultural background, and lived experiences. Having lived across different cultures myself, I approach every child and family with cultural curiosity and sensitivity, striving to create a space where young people feel genuinely respected and seen. I am multilingual and fluent in English, Urdu, Hindi, and Korean, which allows me to connect meaningfully with children and families from diverse backgrounds — an important bridge when it comes to building trust with youth.
Outside of work, I enjoy writing at cafés, learning new languages, exploring history, watching films, and cheering on my favourite soccer team.
