Using Play to Build Cooperation in Your Toddler
Bright Star Counselling is the only pediatric therapy clinic in the Vancouver BC area to offer Parent-Child Interactive Therapy (PCIT) to parents of children under 5 years old. Come learn new parenting techniques through live coaching, as you play with your toddler in our clinic play rooms.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is PCIT?
PCIT is a structured, evidence-based therapy program designed for children aged 2 to 10 years old and their parents and/or caregivers. It blends elements of play therapy and behavioural therapy to foster healthy parent-child interactions and address behavioural concerns.
My toddler has autism, can they join this program?
Yes! PCIT for toddlers is open to children with or without autism as early as age 2. An official diagnosis is not required in order to join.
Do you offer online sessions?
Yes, PCIT can be delivered in person or remotely in your home. Our team is able to travel to remote communities to set up PCIT and then deliver individual sessions via telehealth. We can also deliver to larger groups in a community setting.
